Phnom Penh, Cambodia

Take a look at the Cambodia Visitors Guide get an idea of what to do, where to go in Phnom Penh and Cambodia.

I went to Phnom Penh in June 2004 to my brother David's wedding celebration.  He married Minh, his sweetheart from Vietnam.

Downtown Phnom Penh is just full of motor cycles.  Often you'll se three or four people on one.  A perfect example of Chaos Theory in action.

Street side shops.

(I'll have to work this digital camera better.  Too much image blur.)

Down a side street At an intersection.  We actually had the green light...

Next time I'll get David to stop the car and take some more interesting photos. The street naming is crazy.  A few named major roads, then numbers for the rest.    Basically even numbers run East-West and odd number North-South.  But you'd mistaken if you think 138 Street is the next one after 136 Street.
Not everybody uses motor bikes.   Here's a street map of Phnom Penh.  Thanks to Canby Publications

We had a river cruise up the Tonle Sap River which goes all the way to Siem Reip and Ankor Wat.

It looked like rain...

Back towards to Mekong River confluence

These are the boats that take you to Siem Reip - I was told they're from Russia.  I thought they looked like garfish.  Apparently the river level was low and so the boats are not in use at the moment.

Absolute waterfront housing anyone?  I hope these houses floated.  Note that nearly everyone has a TV antenna.

  Multi-use prime residential allotments?
