Introduction

This project is supported by the Learning & Teaching Development Grant, The Hong Kong Polytechnic University (PolyU), Hong Kong, December 1997.

The aims of the project is to develop an interactive Web-based learning and teaching multimedia computer package in Mathematics for the first year engineering students in the PolyU.

The idea of a Web based package is to render efficient communication and resourceful information for students no matter where they are via the Internet.

This package is not meant to be self-contained, nor a replacement of text books, rather, it tends to be an enhancement to lecture notes and tutorial classes by making use of multimedia and letting students to learn in their own pace.
